Breaking Ground

When you find something new and needing observation, are you direct and efficient or more reflective and observational?

The Dig

This Sunday we dug into our New Vision as a Church!

Read the New Vision: Element3 will live as a Centered Set Church that fosters transformative growth towards Christlikeness through WORSHIP, CONNECTION, and SERVICE.

What items stand out to you as words and phrases of action?

What themes from the past years are easily identifiable?

For those that have been around E3 for many years, has this Vision statement been too slow, too fast, or just about right?

What unique timing might we find in areas when God brings about a New Vision: Spend time as a group considering the following New Visions that the Bible Brings:

Christmas: Jesus coming into the world as an infant (too fast, too slow, just right?)

Easter: Jesus’ sacrifice for us and resurrection (same as above)

Pentecost: the Holy Spirit coming into the World (same as above)

2nd Coming: Jesus returning and restoring all things in the resurrection

What is unique is that our perception of time, but also perception of situations, events, timing, and the calling of God would change our perception of God’s movement in all of these drastically different than those that live through each one.

Similarly the New Vision for Element3 is along the same thinking: it is neither too early, or too late, but follows several factors.

What worldly events are causing the need for this New Vision?

What church-wide events are causing the need for this New Vision?

As a group, how might you unite and move around the New Vision of Element3?

Getting Out of the Hole

Take time each week to reflect upon the Sunday sermon.

  • Read Romans 8:28: what areas do I need to trust in God on God’s timing versus my own perception?
  • How does this new Vision challenge our church?
  • In what ways does this new vision contrast with the Old, and what might this say about our church?

Journal, reflect, & pray on how God might be speaking to you through each week’s teaching. Share your experience with your growth group next week!
