connexity: (n) the act of connecting people with biblical community.
If you’ve never seen this word in a dictionary before, don’t fret. It’s a real word. We promise.
Outward Connexity’s task is to connect people with community at E3 outside of our normal Sunday gatherings…
In other words, we let the good times roll.
On a serious note, coming together to have a good time provides the opportunity to have conversations with each other that might not happen on a Sunday morning. When people feel like they can share great experiences (like patchouli oil and polyester at 70s night) with each other, they are more apt to start doing life together (yes, even the hard stuff.)
And that’s what “Connexity” is all about.
The Outward Connexity Ministry is responsible for things like:
- Our annual Fall Kick Off Picnic, celebrating the end of summer (but not 100 degree weather) and the beginning of our fall ministry season
- The Annual E3 Chili Cook-Off, where hundreds of chili cookers in our community come together in an epic battle of tastiness and football watching
- 70s (or 80s or 90s) Night, a hilariously fun night of live music, trivia, and outdated yet endearing pants suits
- The Amazing Race, where members of our community team up and run all over the city of Tallahassee in a race to be first to complete a list of various tasks
